Is the Lord building this house or is it just us laboring in vain?

The Lord must build the house or we labor in vain

When the Constitutional Convention of 1787 found itself in gridlock, Benjamin Franklin urged his fellow delegates to pray daily “imploring the assistance of Heaven.” By which he meant the Lord. Franklin observed that:

The Uses of Children

The Pied Piper of Hamelin - metaphor for Barack Obama? Definitely a metaphor for eternal childhood and false leaders.

Using children in war situations is not a new phenomenon. They are the most vulnerable to the ruling powers, easily taken from unarmed parents and pressed into service by a government. Czarist Russia drafted children for 20 years, at least 300,000 non-Jewish and 75,000 Jewish Cantonists. Hitler’s Germany drafted thousands of young boys, Hitler youth, indoctrinating them to dedicate their lives for the Reich, unto death if necessary, and most were poorly trained and sent on suicide missions. As many as 40 million children, orphaned by AIDS, and controlled by drugs and religious or political fervor, were recruited in Africa.

America divided and diverted

America divided and diverted

“In politics,” said President Franklin D. Roosevelt, “nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.” Consider what is happening in America today in that light.

Neil Gorsuch and Roe v. Wade

Supreme Court, battleground of the Constitution, rules for Hobby Lobby. But is Neil Gorsuch a good candidate to sit here?

Since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973 legalizing abortion, the issue has been passionately argued by factions both for and against the procedure. The battle for life also made it to the confirmation hearings of Neil Gorsuch when he was questioned by Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois regarding his opinion on the matter.

Equality, racism and hypocrisy

Abortion destroys unborn children. As ye sow, so shall ye reap. The advocacy of abortion reveals the hypocrisy of the left.

Perhaps an unspoken truism is “Hypocrites you will have with you always.” While sinfulness is part of human nature, hypocrisy goes back to the Garden of Eden when Eve first rationalized that truth can be subjective, hypocritically disregarding the wisdom of He who is Truth. Throughout the ages it has been evident that the human ability to rationalize what is wrong is unlimited. Today it is evident in the pro-choice movement that rationalizes the taking of helpless human life but hypocritically objects to the killing of helpless animals. To them, right is what they want it to be regardless of any common thread of logic.

Americans honoring abortion

How can America, pretending to be Christian, tolerate abortion?

“A nation that kills its children in the womb has lost its soul.” That is what abortion is.

Two Americas, two marches

Planned Parenthood kills more than guns. An anti-abortion and anti-gun control message from the 2013 March for Life. This represents one of the two Americas.

As a woman who has never felt professionally (or otherwise) oppressed because of her gender, the Women’s March held in Washington, D.C. on January 21st had puzzled me. Having grown up in a stable family and conservative neighborhood, I have always believed that obstacles to success were rooted in something other than discrimination – running the gamut from poor work ethics, to lack of talent, or perhaps unqualified credentials. Obviously, has-been feminists strongly object, since their success restrictions need to have a scapegoat disguising itself under the cloak of victimization. Personally, the cloak of victimization never fit me well.

Hollywood’s useful idiots

Linda Sarsour obviously learned well about recruiting useful idiots.

“Accuse the other side of which you are guilty of.” So said Joseph Gobbles, the master Nazi propaganda minister – equally good at recruiting useful idiots.

Whatever the people believe is true?

America must learn to tell what is true from false.

“True glory takes root, and even spreads; all false pretences, like flowers, fall to the ground; nor can any counterfeit last long.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

Protesters – and moral failure

Bradlee Dean on the anti-Trump protesters and the moral failure that produced them.

“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.” So said Dietrich Bonhoeffer. This week, young protesters were surrounding police cars in an attempt to free rioters who were being arrested for breaking the law. I know the media backed (bought and paid for) rioting taking place is in many cases the voice of the unheard. Yet that is not what we are dealing with in this country. We are dealing with those who are illegal, unruly and unworthy to even be a part of this country.
