Obama birth certificate petition

The Tea Party group in Arizona that first challenged the Obama birth certificate, now are petitioning Arizona’s legislature. The object: to force Arizona’s Secretary of State, as the senior election officer, to look at Barack H. Obama’s credentials before certifying him to appear on the general election ballot.

Text of the petition

The petition, from the Sun City Tea Party, reads:

We the undersigned Arizona citizens are requesting that the Arizona House, and/or the Arizona Senate pass a RESOLUTION directing Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett to send a certified letter to Democratic National Committee Chairperson, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, requesting that she produce certified source documents that are satisfactory to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office that positively identify the U.S. natural born citizenship and the Selective Service System Registration of Barack Hussein Obama II. With the recent findings of the MCSO Cold-Case Posse, there is probable cause to believe that Barack Hussein Obama II’s Selective Service Registration Form and his State of Hawaii Certification of Live Birth are criminal forgeries, it is imperative to determine Barack Hussein Obama II’s status regarding his eligibility to be placed on the 2012 Arizona ballot.

The Obama birth certificate
Obama's long-form birth certificate, as released by the White House. A photocopy of an image in a book, with green safety-paper texture added after-the-fact. Suppose a teacher had assigned this as homework? Would that teacher still be teaching?

Jerome Corsi, of the Western Journalism Center, filed the report. He cited Arizona Revised Statutes 41-121-1 as the authority for that petition. That statute describes the job of the Secretary of State:

The secretary of state shall: (1) Receive bills and resolutions from the legislature, and perform such duties as devolve upon the secretary of state by resolution of the two houses or either of them.

The Tea Party group leaders announced their latest challenge to the Obama birth certificate at a meeting on the Church of the Green, Sun City West, AZ. They billed the event as a “press conference” and invited Sheriff Joseph Arpaio, of Maricopa County, AZ, and Mark Zullo, chief investigator of his Cold Case Posse, to speak. Arpaio and Zullo showed up, but the press did not.

Other Obama birth certificate challenges

Corsi also reported that Bettina Viviano, an independent Hollywood producer, said she heard Bill Clinton say that the Obama birth certificate was a fraud. Of course, Bill Clinton sings a different tune today. What changed that tune? According to Viviano, the tune changed when a Clinton-friendly superdelegate died from an act of murder in Arkansas. Shortly after that, someone from the Obama campaign threatened the Clintons’ daughter Chelsea with murder. (Play this video to see Corsi’s interview with Viviano.)

Last month, Hugh McInnish, a resident of Alabama, sued to stop Alabama election officials from listing Obama’s name on the ballot. The court denied his motion for lack of subject-matter jurisdiction. But: Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker said that the Obama birth certificate would not stand up in court if Obama’s lawyers tried to offer it in evidence. In fact, Justice Parker said that he could understand exactly how someone might have forged the Obama birth certificate document that the White House released on April 27 of last year.

Corsi will speak to a New Jersey Tea Party group tonight to describe his reports on the Obama birth certificate.
