America v. Britain on Islam

The American flag. This Memorial day, remember one who fights for that flag and is now in a Mexican jail.

Call it A Tale of Two Leaders. Though one leads and the other doesn’t. America has a de facto President who refuses to lead. In fact he humiliated his country in the worst way short of a military defeat. In contrast, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has a real leader. This leader recognizes evil as it is, and does not fear to declare war against it.

Iraq: have we returned?

That last few days have seen the most reluctant engagement of an enemy in the history of the United States. An army-without-a-country calling itself “The Islamic State” is roaming over vast tracts of land in northern Iraq. But now, on the orders of de facto President Obama, American planes have strafed Islamic State (IS) positions, and dropped food, water, and other supplies on top of a mountain for some civilians the IS has trapped there. Now we see American troops giving arms and ammunition to Kurdish fighters, the only fighters native to Iraq who are any good.

Geneva convention lies

The Red Cross symbol. The Geneva Convention has always been a Red Cross project.

Critics of the Republic of Israel throw the name “Geneva convention” around and make it a buzz phrase. Their premise: Israel breaks the Geneva convention, by how it either runs things in Judea and Samaria (“the West Bank”), or fights its war in and over Gaza. But a close read of the Geneva convention shows Israel has not broken that convention or any of its protocols. Their enemies break that convention all the time, but no one complains, even in a whisper.

HAMAS enforces lies

Hamas Damascus rally. What would those artistas thinki if they knew what these people really thought of them?

HAMAS (Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, or Islamic Resistance Movement, or, as the word means in Arabic, “enthusiasm”) bears all the blame for civilian deaths in Gaza. They did more than start the war in Gaza. (In fact they’ve been at war with Israel since their founding, as their charter demands.) They do indeed launch rockets, and even run their war, from civilian areas. And they try to stop reporters from telling that story. Meanwhile, the world ignores Israeli efforts to keep the misery to a minimum.

FAA lifts flight ban to Israel

How should Israel feel about trusting Putin's Bitch?

The thirty-six-hour economic sanction against Israel by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ended  at 11:45 p.m. last night (July 23), or 6:45 a.m. Israel Summer Time. At that hour, the FAA rescinded its ban on all travel to and from David Ben-Gurion Airport by U.S.-flag airliners. This happened only after a United States Senator called the FAA and their Obama administration masters on their true motives.

Israel cut off from air?

Yesterday, one missile, likely from Gaza, struck the ground in the Tel Aviv suburb of Lod, near the David Ben-Gurion Airport. Shortly afterward, Delta Air Lines Flight 468, on final approach to Ben-Gurion after crossing the Atlantic from New York, abruptly turned around to land at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The airline suspended all flights to and from Israel until further notice. United Air Lines did the same. Then the Federal Aviation Administration said it would not allow any U.S. carrier to fly into or out of Israel for at least twenty-four hours. (And at roughly 12:35 p.m. EDT, the FAA extended that ban for another twenty-four hours.)

Israel invades Gaza

Thirteen years of pseudo-war, continued terrorism, and lately unprovoked attacks came to an end today. Israel has now invaded Gaza, from land, sea and air. The only remaining question is: will they stay?

Israel to wait Hamas out?

How should Israel feel about trusting Putin's Bitch?

Can Israel wait Hamas out? That seems incredible. After all, Hamas now has rockets that let it reach all the way to the Dead Sea and almost to the Golan Heights to the north and Eilat to the south. But two experts, who should know, say Hamas started this latest war out of desperation. Desperate men lose more often than win. So maybe the leaders of Israel calculate wisely, to strike back only in the air (or with special forces) until Hamas runs out of missiles.

Israel in limbo about war

The people of Israel are in a limbo of their own making. They suffer an unremitting and unprovoked attack. That attack would provoke almost any other country in the world to go to all-out war. But Israel will not. Or will it?

Cowards and tyrants

The recent debacle in Iraq raises many questions: questions about whether or not we should have gone there; questions about the wisdom of pulling our troops out; questions about nation-building and spreading democracy. To be sure, all of these questions are legitimate. However, there is a side of this issue that has yet to be discussed: the role the coward plays in all of this.
