IRS scandal: par for the course

Logo of the Internal Revenue Service, the federal income tax authority

The latest hearings on the IRS scandal in the House of Representatives prove one thing above all. It is not that the Obama administration is the least transparent presidential administration in the history of the United States. We knew that already. Instead, it is that the American people lost their Republic the day three-fourths of the several States ratified the 16th Amendment, and Congress ordained and established the Internal Revenue Service.

Cover up 2.0

The original cover up fell apart when someone looked hard at it. No one's looking hard enough today.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Cover up 2.0. Most of you, reading this today, will not recognize this as the second version. Cover up 1.0, for anyone who does remember, was Watergate. In the summer of 1972, Watergate stopped being the name of a famous hotel in Washington D.C. The name became a label for the most serious sort of government malfeasance. Watergate was about burglary, wiretapping, and theft of documents from political opponents and even from confidential professionals, specifically a psychiatrist. Cover up 2.0 is more serious. It is about using the taxing power to destroy political speech. But this time, Cover up 2.0 might succeed where Cover up 1.0 failed. The reason: the heroes that stopped Cover up 1.0 in 1972 1974 have no counterparts today.

Eric Cantor: why he lost

TEA Party to GOP establishment: enough already.

Representative Eric Cantor, R-Va.-7th, will not return to the House of Representatives next winter. He even announced today that he will resign as Republican floor leader, effective at the end of July. So no Republicans in the House are scrambling to determine who will be the next floor leader. The rest of the Republican establishment are still trying to pick their jaws off the floor. Meanwhile, everyone has his pet theory on why Eric Cantor lost his own primary. And most of those people are simply wrong.

Eric Cantor loses primary

Seal of Virginia. Translation: Thus Always to Tyrants

Representative Eric Cantor, R-Va.-7th, will likely not return to the House of Representatives next winter. The Associated Press, and now the Fox News Channel, report he has lost his primary race to challenger David Brat, who has the backing of the Tea Party.

Ben Carson: open letter

Ben Carson at CPAC 2014

Dear Dr.  Ben Carson,

First of all I would like to tell you how much you are admired and respected by millions upon millions of Americans.  At that “Breakfast Dinner” where you spoke, the people of this country were blessed to be able to see and hear, for the first time since Obama took office, a person stand up and say what needed to be said.

Taxation without representation

The Constitution is not dead

The term “taxation without representation” is commonly associated with our War for Independence. It was one of many grievances the Colonists held against the King of England for the three taxes imposed upon the Colonists. Today we are also suffering from this tyrannical activity but nary can a complaint be heard – possibly because it has gone unnoticed. Unfortunately, “unnoticed” does not mean unpracticed.

Veterans deserve better

The San Antonio Veterans Hospital is one of several implicated in the scandal of veterans dying on waiting lists.

Our government treats its military veterans badly. Everybody knows that now. We don’t know what the right people are going to do about it, or even who the right people are. We don’t even know how long this has been going on. But we should know this: what these veterans are enduring (or succumbing to) today, we will endure (or succumb to) tomorrow.

Elections: Tools of Tyranny?

Ballot box. The Electoral College compact relies on stuffing this.

Just this past week yet another conservative hopeful has failed his country, our Constitution and the people who have placed their confidence in him.  Rand Paul has joined the Progressive camps of the ruling parties with his declaration that voter fraud, the worst kind of election fraud, should be ignored.

Benghazi attack and White House lies

Anti-ethics produced this result and now glosses over it.

The Benghazi attack story blew up over the last two days. This blow-up could not come at a worse time for Democrats. It shows why the American people should never entrust any branch of government to them. It shows why Barack Obama should not be President today. And it shows why Hillary Clinton should not become President in 2017. Barack Obama stole the Election of 2012 with a narrative he knew was false. We now know his White House specifically pressed that narrative. And did so at the cost of a man’s liberty, after four other men lost their lives.

No more RINOs

TEA Party to GOP establishment: enough already.

Several months ago TPATH reported on the GOP’s “Declaration of War” against conservative groups and their candidates. Since that article, conservative politicians and candidates as well as Tea Party leaders across this country have been subjected to a relentless onslaught by the GOP establishment (or the RINO establishment) and their newfound allies in the mainstream media.
