Israel Gaza conflict – wider war?

Members of the Israel Defense Forces on the Golan Heights. Will these men take part in the Israel Gaza Conflict?

The Israel Gaza conflict broke out again this week. It has simmered for seven years, and hints of a breakout came when the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS in Arabic) seized power in Gaza and governed it their own way. Now the armies of Israel have had enough. But they also have evidence that Iranian advisers helped HAMAS this time. This war might become much wider, and involve all the Middle East.

Terrorist attack: ask the obvious questions

Osama Bin Laden compound. A terrorist attack to kill an ambassador, but not to avenge this?

On September 11, 2012, America experienced another terrorist attack, but this time it was on foreign soil. To be clear, our embassies in foreign lands are supposed to be “American.” They are a little piece of real estate that is an extension of American soil in whatever land they are located. Many questions are arising amidst this tragedy.

Muslim mobs kill ambassador, storm embassy

Flag of Egypt. What happened in Egypt is a metaphor for American policy failures in the Middle East.

Yesterday, Muslim street mobs scaled the wall of the United States Embassy in Cairo and attacked and burned the United States Mission in Benghazi, Libya. The mob even killed the US Ambassador to Libya when he came to get his employees out of the mission. And US officials stunned the world—by apologizing to the mobs.

Israel and Iran: time has run out

Sar Kenan, ancient gateway into Israel from the north.

Today the Prime Minister of Israel did something heads of state don’t normally do. He roared at an ambassador in his office. He told American Ambassador Dan Shapiro that “time has run out.” Specifically the time to talk Iran out of making enough weapons-grade uranium for one or more bombs is now past.

Strait of Hormuz to close?

Flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Did Obama try to wangle an October Surprise in Iran? Maybe, but he probably didn't get it.

Officials from Iran threatened the world with another oil shock over the weekend. A ranking general said that he had plans in place to close the Strait of Hormuz. The Majlis, or parliament, is debating a bill to do just that. But the Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region are looking for ways to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. And the US Navy has its own plans to keep the Strait open.

Israel prepares for protest, war

Israel is preparing for the largest mass protest it has ever endured, and might also be preparing to strike Iran, whatever the world thinks.

Hot mike catches Obama talking treason

Barack Obama, driving off the fiscal cliff deliberately

The hot mike, the microphone left “live” after a politician or other dignitary has made a speech, is the latest weapon in the arsenal of the Fourth Estate. Whether most members of that Estate appreciate it is another issue. But the value of the hot mike is indisputable. Case in point: the man now holding office as President, Barack H. Obama, told his nominal counterpart, Dimitry Medvedev, that after the election, he (Obama) will be able to give the Russians everything they ask for. That is treason.

The Spring Break that wasn’t

The media have been too silent on the drone warfare program.

Barack Obama’s daughter went for spring break in Oaxaca, Mexico. That in itself is yet another example of a First Family luxuriating at American taxpayers’ expense. But why did so many media organs, after covering it, abruptly erase their own articles?

Bader Qarmout announces NJ Senate run

Bader Qarmout, Republican candidate for US Senate in NJ The Dead Men Walking destroyed him and went on to lose the election anyway.

Bader Qarmout, immigrant from Jordan, resident of Sparta, NJ, and CNAV contributor, announced yesterday his run for the New Jersey Republican Senate nomination. New Jersey has not elected a Republican to the United States Senate since 1972 (Clifford Case). Bader Qarmout is confident that he will break that long losing streak.
