Through the Looking-Glass

Alice in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll’s sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass – and What Alice Found There, bears an uncanny resemblance to life in America today where up is down and down is up.

King Obama?

The Obama rainbow flag. Democrats now run from this flag and the man.

Does Barack Obama hope to make himself King Obama? At a recent international meeting, Barack Obama took pains to deny this. When one has to take such pains to deny an unpleasant thing, any observer must suspect this thing is true after all. Nowhere is this truer than in the case of Barack Obama, de facto President of the United States.

Imperial lame duck

Elected representatives in America have often been labeled “lame ducks” when their term is in its final stages. This label implies that their ability to accomplish anything is hindered by the limited time they have left in office. Historically, that has been the case – especially for presidents in their second term. That is not the case for the man now occupying the White House in 2014.

America’s biggest threat

Obama, hypocrite in chief at the National Prayer Breakfast

A variety of threats could be listed in today’s America. All of them would probably be legitimate. Looming financial disaster, intrusion by the United Nations in many levels of life and government, Obamacare, Common Core Education, depletion of our military, illegal immigration, voter apathy, and of course terrorism – just to name the most obvious. But the biggest threat to America may be lurking in the background hiding behind all the rest – the man now occupying the White House. Many refer to him as POTUS. I befittingly refer to him as BO – for obvious reasons.

Unauthorized, un-American

Obama, hypocrite in chief at the National Prayer Breakfast

I am the granddaughter, niece, cousin/sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, and mother of many committed patriots. Perhaps it is this background and personal experience that makes the present Administration more offensive to me than I could have ever imagined possible in my younger days. Through the years I have witnessed an array of different presidents, some with many problems, and many with some problems. However, no one ever attributed their shortcomings to be telltale symptoms of an un-American belief system. Oh – those were the good old days.

Martial law tools in place

During his campaign, de facto President Barack Obama promised to build a civilian security force at least as well armed as the military. Lovers of liberty have feared his intent to declare martial law ever since. Yesterday a report appeared in a major newspaper, giving the American people fresh reason to fear such martial law.

Liberty and prosperity in NJ?

Flag of New Jersey

Putting aside the many regulations, property taxes, highway tolls, income tax and sales tax, just to name a few areas where New Jersey leads the country in its attack on Prosperity, the LIBERTY part of the state’s motto continues to be in the sights, so to speak, of New Jersey’s leftist legislative body.

Hollywood: deadly values

The Hollywood Sign

Two days ago, America got a deadly demonstration of Hollywood values, and what they can do to people. But most people won’t think of that. They should.

Ben Carson: open letter

Ben Carson at CPAC 2014

Dear Dr.  Ben Carson,

First of all I would like to tell you how much you are admired and respected by millions upon millions of Americans.  At that “Breakfast Dinner” where you spoke, the people of this country were blessed to be able to see and hear, for the first time since Obama took office, a person stand up and say what needed to be said.

Taxation without representation

The Constitution assumed local control of most government functions, not the current centralized system.

The term “taxation without representation” is commonly associated with our War for Independence. It was one of many grievances the Colonists held against the King of England for the three taxes imposed upon the Colonists. Today we are also suffering from this tyrannical activity but nary can a complaint be heard – possibly because it has gone unnoticed. Unfortunately, “unnoticed” does not mean unpracticed.
