Rock of offense to Hollywood

Remedies for a culture run amuck. Who are the soldiers of the cross?

Hollywood is at it again. They are continuously mocking God and His Word only to show the American people how dead set they are against God and His rule. You see friends, Hollywood is offended by “The Rock of Offense” that exposes them for who they are; and because of this, they then attempt to manipulate scripture by giving America their twisted version of the patriarch “Noah” (that looks just like them). To prove my point, self avowed atheist and director Daren Aronofsky said that his movie Noah is the “least biblical, biblical film” (Psalm 14:1).

It is sad to say that there are some professed Christians that apparently have never taken the time to read the Bible, who find themselves agreeing with this atheist’s unbiblical portrayal of the story.

Hollywood v. the Bible: Noah

We find in the Word of God that Noah, who lived in a “wicked time,” was a “just man” and “perfect in his generation” (Genesis 6). Yet, only in America do self-proclaimed Christians believe an atheist (an enemy to his God) would portray the historical facts of a “godly man” in a “wicked time” in true light. Wow!

Throughout the years, America has tolerated Hollywood educating the populace about crime and sin (1 John 3:4), the mockery of Christianity at almost every turn. Hollywood loves to promote blatant Satanism, killing, sexual immorality, etc. The film industry promotes almost everything that is contrary to what Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, did on the cross on behalf of mankind (1 John 4:10).

Here are a few examples:

The Exorcist is a movie where the “all-powerful” devil is pushing a Christian priest around, and that (of course) is to bring forth the impression that Christians have no power or authority in Christ.

How sadly mistaken and misled these people are.

Here comes the “Stone of Stumbling” and “The Rock of Offense,” as scripture states. Remember, it was the devil that was defeated at the Cross of Calvary (1 Corinthians 2:8), and Jesus has “given (His church) authority over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).

The movie The Last Temptation of Christ has a filthy actor, William Defoe, playing the part of Jesus while having discrete sex with Mary Magdalene. That is blasphemy!

Here again, Hollywood is purposely misleading the people. Scripture states, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate … shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9).

Jesus, the Holy One of God, is the “lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:19) and was “tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).

Again, the movie Noah. The only thing accurate about this movie is that there was a man named “Noah” and he built a boat.

It is worthy of your attention that Hollywood loves to portray Jesus Christ as some sort of weakling, a pansy walking around in pink little booties smacking sheep on the back sides while “all powerful” Satan is not to be meddled with. The message? Christians better steer clear.

Friends, Satan would have you operate out of fear, not faith. He would have you believe that he is the one that is in authority; however, scripture tells us the opposite! Satan is “… as a roaring lion” (1 Peter 5:8), but you will also find it written that Jesus is “… the Lion of the tribe of Judah.” Jesus is not as the Lion; He is the Lion (Revelations 5:5)! Satan is no match for Him!

Apparently, there are people in Hollywood who are hoping that the Jesus they have created in their minds looks just like them.

Let me set the record straight.

And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them (Revelations 20: 11-15).

Like Saint Augustine said, “The truth is like a lion, just turn it loose and it will defend itself.” It always has.
