PR war over Israel

The Damascus Road. An important Middle East prophecy involves the city at its end.

The PR war over Israel is more intense this year than in past years. Meanwhile, Israel is preparing for hot wars.

PR war in perspective

“Public relations” is a dirty game. Israelis know it. Their word for it is hasbarah, which means “propaganda.” They still use that word today, to describe something they have to do.

As well they might. Because ever since the 1967 War, propaganda is what the Arabs have thrown at them. The Arabs learned in 1967 (and again in 1973) that they could not defeat Israel by force of arms. (Quite opposite, in fact!) And so they fight a PR war.

Debt ceiling battle lines

A wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread. This is what Obama, with his fiscal cliff plan, threatens us with.

The Democrats have drawn their battle lines on the debt ceiling debate. The Tea Party wants to know where the Republican lines are.

House to vote on debt ceiling

Tonight, at about 6:30 pm EDT, the House will vote on a bare-bones bill to raise the debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion with no commitment to cut spending. No one expects the measure to pass. 114 House Democrats demanded an “up-or-down vote” on a “clean” debt ceiling raise. They’re going to get their vote: “No.” Nearly all Republicans will vote against the bill, and the Democrats will split their vote.
